"Goddess of the Hills" Uplifts Tribal Children

Gowri Gurunathan, founder of the Anbu Seivom Charitable Trust in Hosur, has been hailed as the "Goddess of the Hill Villagers" (Malaigrama Makkalin Devathai) for her tireless service in tribal regions. Leaving behind a successful career, she dedicated herself to uplifting underprivileged children in remote hill villages by providing free education, meals, and school supplies.

Through her trust, Gowri established makeshift learning centers for children with no access to formal schooling, reaching over 100 students so far. Her mission also includes empowering women, preventing child marriage, and promoting health and hygiene. Her work has earned her deep respect among the local communities and widespread recognition for her compassionate leadership.
